I started school this week, and it's WONDERFUL! One interesting part about it- seeing people. There are 3 types you see...

A. Your friends, the ones you've lost over the summer but it's great to see them again. Good times as well as great lunches are had.

B. The people you know but have totally forgotten their name. You are to embarrassed to ask, and so you say hi without a mention of their name in the entire conversation. (Though, sometimes I just don't care about the embarrassment, and I ask anyway)

C. Those you recognize but you can't figure from where or when. This is fun- you get to play the, what major, what hometown, what ward game (the last is only played in Utah ;)

In conclusion, it's good fun to meet all of the types and makes school just that much better.

Bless The Broken Road

This is basically how I feel about relationships and the road between high school and my wedding day. I think this would be an excellent song for a first dance at my wedding reception.

Rascal Flatts: Bless The Broken Road
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

silly me

In true selfish, conceded fashion- I would like to say…

The places of business in the Salt Lake Valley need to adhere to my errand running schedule- not theirs! Why is no store open at 8 a.m. that I need to be open!? ;)

Endearing Qualities

I had a realization of a hope last night. I was watching the movie "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", (girly I know, but keep reading) and at four different points in the movie- I teared up. My movie companions on the other hand were either rolling their eyes, asleep or laughing. So- this is my hope: that my friends, and also whoever I end up with, will think that the crying emotional Lindsey is cute and it is an endearing quality. This crying incident is defiantly not the first, and I don’t just do it at movies- so it would be nice if my hope is fulfilled.

I also started to think of all the endearing qualities my friends and family posses (sp?). I would like to say- you guys are cute and I love you!

PARIS!

Oh my goodness, I'm sure I could post on this topic as long as the Parisian nights last! It was SO amazing! K, let's dedicate this post to the art-

There is SO much art! The best as my favorite redhead predicted, was the Musee d'Orsay. Seeing the actual paintings- the colors the artist choose, the way he or she wanted us to see it- amazing. I sat and looked at so many and was taken to a different world. Rodin is also amazing- I had never seem much of his work, but I love it. We spent 4 hours in his musee. The Louvre is HUGE! Way to big for this little art lover without art history knowledge.

Art is an amazing thing- it can give different things to everyone, showing them something inside that no one else can see, but also have a common ground for anyone to see and appreciate. Art is part of the expression of being human.
